Welcome to Kids Cove Respite Home

Kids Cove Respite Home is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization—a place where compassion meets action, and every child’s well-being comes first. Our mission is to provide exceptional respite care that feels like a vacation for the kids and a much-needed break for foster parents.

Due to current Missouri regulations, foster homes including foster respite care homes cannot be licensed under nonprofit organizations. Instead, James and Kate Radford serve as the licensed caregivers for Kids Cove. They have been licensed foster parents since 2020, holding certifications for:
✔ Foster Home & Respite Care
✔ Elevated Medical Needs Home
✔ Elevated Needs Home B (recently completed training)

In addition to their extensive training in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), their greatest qualification is their genuine love for and dedication to creating a safe, nurturing space for foster kids.

Our Journey

Founded in 2023 by James and Kate Radford, Kids Cove emerged from a deeply personal commitment to fostering and a shared vision of making a lasting impact on the lives of foster families and children in need. Our journey began with a simple idea — to create a haven where foster families find support, and children experience the joys of childhood in a nurturing environment.
